Watershed funding

Over the years the Calgary French & International School has gone through periods of intensive fundraising for capital facilities and major school initiatives. Some of the key watershed moments in fundraising for our school are listed below.

Building Our Vision Campaign

This $20 million capital project campaign (1999 - 2005) resulted in a new facility and expanded programs at CFIS. It was completed in 3 phases.

Phase 1 Elementary / Junior High (2003)
CFIS moved into its new facility in Cougar Ridge ($12 million)

Phase 1B Band and Drama Room and Stage additions - (2004)
($450,000 addition)

Phase 2 High School (2005) Building expansion with High School wing
($6.3 million)

Government Support

The impact of CFIS’s facilities meeting the needs of the broader community enabled the School to be recognized and rewarded for its contributions.

Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP)

$125,000 CFEP grant to design and construct a double full-sized community gym as part of a greater $12 million Elementary / Junior High School facility.

CFEP grant of $40,378 to design and construct two playgrounds (toddler and elementary) as part of its Phase 1 construction.

$125,000 CFEP grant for the construction of the double full-sized community gym in the new CFIS High School facility.

All of these projects were enthusiastically endorsed by the surrounding communities and are engaged by them today.
