Our Secondary Division engaged with new immigrants through an Amazing Race-type event we organized as part of our studies for the UNESCO pillar of intercultural learning. We organized games and activities relating to a number of cultures at the Calgary Welcome Centre and were pleased to see so many smiles. Our goal was to learn more about various cultures by interacting with people from around the world.
The faculty and staff of CFIS are grateful for the ever-growing number of community members who enthusiastically support CFIS student success, whether through their work as advocates, advisors, donors, volunteers or champions of our school’s vision.
CFIS recently received a $10,000 BP “A+ for Energy” award that will allow next year’s Grade 9 students to embark on a year-long environmental project to tour power plants in a unique real-world initiative by the Secondary Division science department.
