Thank you to the Newsies cast, crew, orchestra, and volunteers!

Our school’s 10th annual musical theatre production—Newsies, The Broadway Musical—was a magical experience! Our student actors, singers, dancers, and musicians together transported the audience to New York City in 1918. Their performances were the culmination of months of hard work, by over half of the Secondary Division’s students, both on the stage and behind the scenes, as well as the efforts of their teacher and parent volunteers. Looking forward to next week's amazing "Newsies" musical!

After an impressive few weeks of basketball playoffs - in which CFIS teams won THREE championship banners! - it's nearly time for our school's annual musical production. This year's spectacular is Disney's "Newsies - The Broadway Musical". Our Secondary Division students have been working so hard, both on stage and behind the scenes, to ensure four amazing performances, on March 14th, 15th, and 16th. Congratulations to the Grade 8 girls basketball team!

Congratulations to our Grade 8 girls basketball team, who gave it their all yesterday afternoon to bring home the CISAA league championship banner! As one parent spectator put it, "It's not always about winning, but about improvement over the season. That is what was so impressive. They played Masters in their first game of the season and lost 30 to 32, but won yesterday, 29 to 13."

Congratulations and thank you to the team's coach, volunteer S. Galbraith (who presently studies Education at the U. of C.), and assistant coach Luisa L. (who is a Grade 10 student at our school).

Golden Vikings!

What an accomplishment by our school's senior high girls basketball team - they won the gold medal yesterday in their CISAA championship playoff! Our CFIS girls played their hearts out. There are two elements to this win that make it even more amazing. One is that this is the inaugural season for senior girls basketball at CFIS. The other is that these "senior girls" are all in Grade 9, 10, and 11 - and their amazing 12-0 record is against teams made up of mostly Grade 12 students!
