Zoo School!

One of our Grade 3 classes was off-site each day last week, at the Chevron Open Minds “Zoo School”. The students and their teacher participated in hands-on, trans-disciplinary programming directly linked to their program of studies. Two other CFIS Grade 3 classes already took part in this program earlier in the school year, and our fourth Grade 3 class will be spending a week at "City Hall School" in the near future.

Principals Camirand and Murray's "French Immersion Myths Busted" article for Calgary's Child magazine

Wonderful video of the students singing "C'est le droit des enfants"

During the closing ceremonies of last week's UNESCO days, students from preschool to Grade 6 met in the gym to sing a song they had learned over the two days of their UNESCO celebrations. They were accompanied by CFIS's music teachers, with our artist-in-residence on the flute.

The song they learned is, "C'est le droit des enfants", by Dominique Dimey, which translates to, "These are the rights of children".
