Annual Spring Benefit
Thank you, everyone, for your generous support of the 2016 Spring Benefit! We couldn't do it without the support of our parents, teachers, staff and partner businesses. Sincere thanks to all!
The final tally is still being made, but it looks like this may be one of the most financially successful years yet.
Funds raised at the event will be directed toward supporting CFIS as an innovative, 21st century school. We will purchase innovative educational tools for our students and explore initiatives such as campus enhancements and possible future expansion, thus benefiting the community as a whole.
This year’s benefit will feature a plated sit-down dinner, engaging entertainment and activities, live and silent auctions, and a wide variety of opportunities for sponsorships, donation and participation.

Spring Benefit FAQs
Who is attending the Spring Benefit?
CFIS parents, grandparents, friends, neighbourhood and sponsor businesses, and anyone with an interest in supporting CFIS students will be in attendance at the Benefit.
Do you need volunteers?
We need volunteers for set-up during the day on Friday afternoon, Saturday during the day as well as during the festivities. Even a half hour would be a great help!
What activities will occur throughout the night?
Hosted by CTV anchor Jocelyn Laidlaw, guests will be treated to an entertaining night of dinner, dance and an engaging program. After a short cocktail reception, a sit-down, plated dinner will be served. The night will be punctuated with entertainment by live bands as well as a DJ.
What are the fundraising activities?
A dynamic silent and live auction features over 80 items, including trips, health assessments, spa packages, gift cards for house cleaning, and much more will be offered. This year, there will be opportunities to participate starting at $20 through gala-style games with prizes such as heads & tails and a balloon pop.
Where will the funds raised be directed?
Funds raised for the Spring Benefit will be directed towards acquiring 21st century learning tools and environments for CFIS students.
What do I wear?
The event is semi-formal. Cocktail wear is appropriate with women in dresses or dress pants and men in jackets, tie optional.
When should I arrive?
Arrive as close to 6 p.m. as possible. With a sit-down dinner, this will be a great time to view the silent auction items as well as mingle and chat with people who aren’t sitting at your table.
What is the entertainment?
This year two CFIS student bands will play during the cocktail hour. As we sit-down for dinner Quiet Nights, a Brazilian jazz band, will start their first set and play until the live auction completes. A DJ will entertain us post dinner with dancing and celebrating into the wee hours.
