A Minute With Mme Amy: The view from the first floor (highlights from my week)

While the accident involving Mme Abi was far from being a highlight, the outpouring of love and support for her has been a powerful reminder of the strength and "family-ness" of our school community. Thank you to everyone who has reached out; I have passed on your love and good wishes, and was able to see Abi in person today. She is so grateful for all the kind words from our school community, and reading cards from many of you brought a bright smile to her face.  You are most welcome to continue to drop cards and notes (especially from your children) at the main office and I will arrange delivery to Mme Abi.

Yesterday's UNESCO Day was not only the highlight of my week, but also a highlight of my entire career. There are no words to describe the magic that was woven as our "little kids" and "big kids" taught each other about topics ranging from First Nations communities to holidays around the world. Our music department wrote an original song for the occasion, and we ended the day sitting in a big circle in the gym, arms around each other, singing about working together for change. It gives me happy goosebumps just thinking about it!

Did you know...

That I documented yesterday's event, including the song on the ECEatCFIS instagram account? You can check out many photos and some videos here: Clicking on any of the images will take you to the captions and other photos from the same timeslot.

Have a wonderful, (finally) spring-like weekend!

Warm wishes;
